For the rest of this year... ie from now until the 05/04/2008 your money will not change if you get a part time job as long as your earnings and your partners earnings do not differ by more than 鎷?5,000.00. For example. If you%26#039;re partner received 20k and you nothing in the last tax year, your money would not alter unless your combined income became higher than 45k for this tax year!!

The tax office would still need to know about the new income as next years tax credits are based on everything you earned THIS year... so it would affect your claim in the long term, but in the short time it wouldn%26#039;t affect your tax credits. You wouldn%26#039;t be eligible for any help with childcare charges unless you were working 16 hours a week (and your partner too... but you%26#039;ve said he%26#039;s full time).

I cannot comment on the Housing benefit tho.... as this may be affected as i believe (and i could be wrong) that the HB is means tested against your Total income into the house and any changes needs to be reported. I%26#039;d double check with them!!

Sorry for the long winded answer... but tax credits aren%26#039;t that simple!!!! :o)
