If you receive child tax credits or working tax credits how long did it take from when you sent the application away till you received a payment? I have been waiting now for 9 weeks for child tax credit.

Absolute joke of a system.
But they will back pay you, so you%26#039;ll get a lump sum.
Still, ring them to see how far your claim has been processed. That%26#039;ll give you some idea how much longer.

When i first applied, the system was new. it took about 3 months!
Just keep phoning them until you get results. It shouldn%26#039;t take that long!
My sister in law recently applied for her tax credits and received her 1st payment within 2 weeks!

It should be instant-- as soon as the calculations are done thats it. They send your reward straight away. The only reasons for delays would be either that they have a backlog of applications or if you gave them an estimated earning amount it may take them time to investigate.
Why not just call them and ask- im sure there is a reasonable explanation.

I waited about 7 weeks,then got nearly 2 grand backdated!!!!
Its worth the wait.
