College funding can i get anything if i get tax credits?

I am thinking of doing a 2yr HNC Part Time Course in Health and Social Care. When i phoned the college to enquire the lady said i may be able to get the course paid for me. I work full time and i am in receipt of working and child tax credits. The lady said if i get tax credits then i shouldnt need to pay. Or if i dont get it paid then can i pay up the course.

Since they have changed the funding rules this has become a bit of a land mine but I would think like someone on benifits you would get an assisted place on a course. they tend to get everyone to pay something but there may also be help for books ect. Go and talk to the college welfare people And good luck you are so brave.

im on tax credits and have gotten all my courses at a reduced rate-never free though-but you do get a big deduction-check with the college x
