I heard anyone can get EIC and Child tax credits with no children. Also I made child support payments - can I use this to receive more credits or it has no effect? Any tax professionals know the answer?
My son was born 1/3/08. Can I claim for 2007 tax credits? Also is it true anyone can get EIC w/no kids?
No, he has to be born in 2007 to be claimed in 2007.
No, not everyone with a kid qualifies... There are rules to getting the EIC... see the link below. Typically married couples are not eligible. Your child has to be your dependent, i.e. not claimed by anyone else.
Child support payments are not deductible... Alimony, however, is deductible.

No you cannot claim your child%26#039;s exemption on your 2007 return. And you can%26#039;t get credits for 2007 either. Quit listening to whover you%26#039;re listening to.

No, you%26#039;ll have to wait until next year to claim him.

You can not get the tax credit. And it%26#039;s not true that anyone can get it. The govt. is actually very particular with this credit, and if you falsify it you actually get the rights to try and claim it at a later time when it might actually be real taken away.

No. You will claim your son for your 2008 taxes when you file next year in 2009. Personal exemption will be $3,500 per person.

No, a baby born in 2008 can%26#039;t be claimed on a 2007 return.
It%26#039;s possible for people with no children to qualify for EIC, but only if their earned income for the year is VERY low.
No, someone with no dependent children can%26#039;t get child tax credits.
Paying or receiving child support has no effect on your tax return.

NO, the child can not go on your 2007 taxes!!! EIC - you must have kids - and make under $32,000 I believe - and you also can%26#039;t do this until next year. Child tax credit - you can do next year , that is $1000 per child.
child support payments - NEVER get put on your taxes.
(alimony does however)
