My partner was made redundant a year ago and we are now living on my part-time wage (contracted for 18 hours a week) which varies depending on overtime between 鎷?00 to 鎷?50 a week. I receive Working Tax Credits %26amp; Child Tax Credits. We have two children. Am I entitled to a reduction in Council Tax and if so, what does applying involve?
(I thought I%26#039;d check out opinion here as it will probably be simpler than approaching the council!)

However if you get working tax credit you won%26#039;t get a reduction in Council Tax. We are in the same boat, dependent on one minimum wage and we get no help at all. We%26#039;ve fallen so badly behind with Council Tax payments that we are being taken to Court for it.

Do what Ricky said
Council Tax Reduction?
If only take in 600 a month and have 2 kids, you cant have a single penny left after you have paid your bills.
You usually only get a discount if you are on income support, or disability allowance, but its worth applying for the discount. You can fill the form in online.

Im not being rude by saying this, but if you are in financial difficulty you should start full time hours. And your partner should go back to work, asda are always recruiting and they would make more friends as well as have extra money coming in.
Really 鎷?00 a month for a family is no where near enough to make ends meet, and there is nothing worse than worrying about money.
Good luck!

It%26#039;s along time for your partner to be unemployed. I thought there was loads of work. Thus the reason for letting so many immigrants in. Good Luck.

there are loads of jobs out there if you need one. m and S have brilliant packages for people in your partners position, major supermarkets are very supportive, he can re-train or even take voluntary work to get experience to get a new paid job
i think either he needs to get a job or you need to work a full week.
People should not rely on charity from the government - after all you are already getting a big package of handouts
